The GeoVid app explores the concept of sensor-rich video tagging. Specifically, it records geo-referenced videos by collecting a continuous stream of extended geographic properties (for example the location, direction, date and time) together with the video. This sensor meta-data is utilized for storing, indexing and searching large collections of community-generated videos. Videos can be previewed on the app. However, for full use of the sensor data the videos can be uploaded to the GeoVid search portal either via Wi-Fi or 3G. The search portal at http://geovid.org utilizes the sensor information to provide a variety of novel and powerful search features. Features . Records geo-referenced videos with DVD-quality (720 x 480) video resolution. . Allows uploading of recorded videos to a search portal (http://geovid.org), where users can submit geo-referenced queries (such as range or directional queries) and view the videos of the search result via a web interface.
